The first event of the year has already taken place and it couldn’t have been any other than the GAIA – Gender Alliance for Innovation in Agriculture launch event in the European Parliament, Belgium! Keep scrolling to get a glimpse!

Kicking-off the new year’s events in Brussels

Represented by the project’s Communications Manager, Grigoris Chatzikostas, from our partner organisation Foodscale Hub, Data4Food2030 was live at the event to share his insights and support this unique initiative and its mission.

The GAIA launch event was hosted by the Member of the European Parliament Irène Tolleret, who gave us the opportunity to kick-off the activities of the Alliance and honoured us by delivering a keynote speech on the importance of supporting gender equality. Representing the Alliance’s partners, we also had the opportunity to attend brief speeches from Lorena van de Kolk from Schuttelaar & Partners, Enrica Belfiori from CEMA, Anneleen De Visscher from ILVO, Gonneke Gros Gerkema from Grodan and Cheryl Nolan from VistaMilk SFI Research Centre. It was a an excellent occassion to gather with like-minded people and contribute to GAIA’s mission!

A few words about GAIA

The Gender Alliance for Innovation in Agriculture (GAIA) is dedicated to supporting the 4th agricultural revolution in Europe, by supporting inclusive and sustainable solutions. Building on the results of the SmartAgriHubs Gender Taskforce, the Alliance gathers a diverse team of experts who can leverage their network, knowledge, best practices and lessons learnt to support the Alliance and its mission. GAIA is first and foremost a large network of organizations and individuals dedicated to gender equality, with its core team, supported by Schuttelaar & Partners, based in Brussels, including policy and agriculture experts.

Gender equality is a top priority for our project and we are honoured to be a member of the Gender Alliance for Innovation in Agriculture – Let’s join forces towards gender equality in agricuture and beyond!
