  • Press Release | Final Call to Join the Data4Food2030 x TITAN Conference in Brussels

17–18 June 2026 | SPARKS, Brussels

With just days to go before the start of the Data4Food2030 x TITAN Conference, researchers, industry leaders, innovators, startups, SMEs, policymakers, investors and food system stakeholders from across Europe are preparing to gather in Brussels for two days of discussions on the future of food systems, digital innovation and the data economy.

Taking place on 17–18 June 2026 at SPARKS in Brussels, the conference will bring together experts and practitioners working at the intersection of food, data, sustainability and innovation under the theme:

“Innovations to Build Sustainable Supply Chains in a Fair Data Economy for a Better Food System.”

The event is jointly organised by the Horizon Europe projects Data4Food2030 and TITAN, which have worked over the past years to advance knowledge, tools and solutions supporting more transparent, data-enabled and sustainable food systems across Europe.

As Europe advances its digital and sustainability transitions, the role of data, transparency, artificial intelligence and digital technologies is becoming increasingly important in shaping more sustainable, resilient and trustworthy food systems. The conference will provide a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration among stakeholders from research, industry, public authorities, civil society, SMEs, startups and the wider innovation ecosystem.

The conference will also serve as a key opportunity to showcase the achievements, lessons learned and future perspectives emerging from the Data4Food2030 and TITAN projects as they approach the conclusion of their Horizon Europe journeys.

Across the two-day programme, participants will engage in keynote speeches, panel discussions, thematic sessions, workshops, innovation pitches, poster presentations, networking opportunities and an SME Marketplace showcasing innovative solutions and technologies.

Participants will explore topics including:

  • Data spaces and the Data Economy for Food Systems (DE4FS)
  • Artificial intelligence and digital innovation in agri-food systems
  • Sustainable supply chains and traceability
  • Food safety and food fraud prevention
  • Data governance, privacy and trust
  • Consumer engagement and informed decision-making
  • Food loss and waste reduction
  • Sustainability assessment and environmental monitoring
  • Seafood traceability and transparency
  • Digitalisation in supply chain management

The conference will focus on four main thematic areas: enhancing food safety and reducing food fraud; driving informed decisions for consumers; building sustainable and traceable supply chains; and developing the data economy through data spaces.

Among the highlights of the programme are discussions on the future of the Data Economy for Food Systems, sessions exploring the role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in food systems, stakeholder dialogues on data governance and trust, and presentations of innovative solutions supporting sustainability, transparency and resilience across food value chains.

The programme will also include a dedicated workshop on the Roadmap towards a fair, inclusive and innovative Data Economy for Sustainable Food Systems, bringing together policymakers, food system stakeholders, digital experts and other relevant actors interested in advancing data-driven innovation in food systems.

In addition, the conference will feature an SME Awards competition recognising innovative solutions contributing to sustainability and food safety, further demonstrating the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in addressing key food system challenges.

Speakers include leading voices from research, policy, industry and international organisations, such as Roberta Sonnino from the University of Surrey, Wim Haentjens from the European Commission’s DG Research & Innovation, Louise Dye from the University of Sheffield, François Bourdichon from SODIAAL and Henry van Burgsteden from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Beyond presenting project results, the conference aims to create new connections between research, industry, policy and investment communities, helping accelerate the uptake of innovative solutions and strengthen collaboration across Europe’s food innovation ecosystem.
